Will my cat not sit in it's basket if I wash or vacuum the mattress?
So it's been about 2 weeks since we got out adult cat A basket. He's gone without one for about 6 years or something. He used to stay out at night or just sleep on the carpet !
Long story short; The problem is that it's full of cat hairs (yes I do brush him).
If I vacuum the mattress of his basket, will he not sit in it because it doesn't smell of him anymore? Asking because he smells it before sitting in it lol

Your cat is just used to not having a comfy basket, what you could try is rubbing a soft cloth gently over his face, then rubbing the cloth over the basket, a cats scent glands are in their face and paws so rubbing the cloth over his face then basket will be transferring his scent to his basket.
I have 2 female cats and that's what I first did with their baskets. I spend ages brushing my cats because they just love it yet their cushions in the basket still gets covered in hairs so I just replace them every few months, they're not expensive.
