How To Beat Depression With 3 Simple Ways
You can beat depression simply by not accepting it as a way of life. It is easier to say than do however. Depression often occurs if you're physically ill with an underlying infection or malnourished. Before you start working on a solution, check out your physical health.
You don't have to share your reason with the doctor but you'll find that he'll respect your decision to investigate a physical cause first. Let the doctor know that you simply want to rule out anything physical and request his help for an action plan on how to beat depression if you have a clean bill of health.
Sunshine and Exercise
When you're depressed, it's like tasting life through a brown paper sack. Nothing sounds fun, nothing sounds good and nothing sounds interesting.
You often don't have enough energy to complete your daily tasks. You can adjust your schedule to provide some additional sunlight and exercise.
If it's spring, summer or fall, carry a well-balanced lunch to work. Instead of eating in your cubicle, go for a walk in the sun and eat your lunch on a park bench. If you have lunch with others, request that you eat at a restaurant close to work and walk there.
In order to save time, since many people have a short lunch break, phone in your order so it's ready when you arrive.
During those dark dreary winter months, you might be experiencing SAD, seasonal affective disorder. This occurs when you don't experience enough sunshine. Light therapy can help you overcome this problem. Exercise can also be a problem in the winter. If you're not one to frolic in the snow, simply increase your exercise by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, run in place in the morning for a few minutes and do the same every time you have a chance. You can also exercise while you watch television to help you beat depression.
Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs
Even though your doctor may not have noted there was any physical problem, taking extra vitamins and minerals can help depression. Focus on a multiple vitamin for stress or take a B-complex and a multiple vitamin to beat stress. B vitamins are water-soluble so it is difficult to take too many. The body flushes out the excess vitamins. Don't over do it and take additional B-complex. You're body will react with gas if you have a shortage. Increase the amount you take slowly.
You can beat depression with several herbs. St. John's wort is one herb that helps you. It contains several phytochemicals that help fight depression. These include hypericin, pseudohypericin and xanthones.
If depression causes you to lose sleep, try Kava Kava. Be aware that your skin will be sensitive to the sun. To counter this, try astaxathin. It's an antioxidant from algae and the reason that salmon, krill and flamingos are pink. It also has other benefits that will improve your health and the better you feel, the more energy you have to beat depression.
Diet
Watch your diet closely. You may not be experiencing depression but have a case of low blood sugar. Eating sugar causes it! Cut out all caffeine products and sugar from your diet. Caffeine ultimately can give you adrenal exhaustion and depression (You might want to have one cup of coffee that you sip throughout the day to avoid the withdrawal headache. Then cut down over a week's time.)
Eat six smaller well-balanced meals or three meals and two snacks. Include cheese and celery or similar items for snacks, not chips or candy bars. You'll find yourself with more energy at the end of a couple of weeks and you'll be able to know how to beat depression.

Answer:
i'm not an expert i've just found myself in the mental health section but all of what you said is good.
if i were you i'd try to avoid the anti depressants first, and do all the other things to see if you can help yourself. but i dont know you or your situation.
i do exercise though i can say for a fact that if you excersise regularly, weights and running, if you get into a pattern of exercising and you commit to it, you will definately feel better. it releases endorphins which are like natural anti depressants that your body produces all by itself. you have to do it regularly though and once you get into it you will really start to enjoy it.
start slowly and build up to lifting weights for 30 mins - 3 times a week, and running twice a week for 30 mins. there's a thing called 'joggers high', this is the endorphins working. trust me commit to exercise and you definately will start to feel better.
give it a go.
