No Cook Party Ideas
Lets face it, at the end of the day parties are all about family and friends being together, not gourmet food or elaborate decor or even creative themes. So here are 3 EASY peasy ways to throw together a party without getting 1 pan out, starting the oven or even boiling water. Get your take out menus and lets have a party!
Pizza Party
Who doesn't love pizza? Call up your local pizza joint and order a few large pies with fun toppings on it (ordering 1 large per 4 people should be enough) like pineapple and ham, white pizza with ricotta and mozzarella or shrimp and garlic. Ask them to cut the pizza into 16 slices and lay them out on nice platters. Order a big salad and DONE!
Drink this fun cocktail from Giada De Laurentis: Sgroppino1 Cup chilled Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine), 2 tablespoons chilled vodka, 1/3 cup frozen lemon sorbet, 1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh mint leaves.
Pour Prosecco and vodka into 2 champagne flutes, spoon a scoop of sorbet in each flute and sprinkle with mint leaves. Serve immediately.
Decorate with some pretty Sunflowers or any festive flowers that are available at your supermarket.
Mexican
Go to your local burrito joint and order a variety of burritos. My local place Salsa Salsa has yummy varieties like Nacho Burrito, Whole Wheat Spinach Burrito and Seasonal Fish to name a few. These puppies are huge so ask them to cut each one into 4 pieces. Place on a platter, order chips, salsa and guacamole and DONE!
Drink Corona... enough said.
Decorate: since you need the limes anyway use a few along with lemons and oranges and place in a large vase. Festive, fresh and chic, just like you!
Chinese
Get some dim sum, dumplings or go nuts and order the PuPu Platter (try to stifle your giggles while ordering please...we're adults!). Get an order of lo main and/or cold sesame noodles. Arrange the dim sum on a bamboo steamer if you have it and pretend you made them. DONE!
Since the food was super easy put your time into making a Lychee martini. Mix Lychee vodka with Lychee syrup and garnish with Lychee fruit.
Decorate your table with a bunch of lanterns in various sizes and shapes. Surround with candles...done!

Frequently Asked Questions...
Baby shower ideas?
My daughter is having a baby shower. Her son has already arrived. He will be three weeks old. We need 3 games to play. Also, we are having a table set up for diapers and baby wipes. If people bring one or the other, they will be entered in a drawing. But what should the gift be? I went to a shower where they gave a mixing bowl, spoon and starter. Another shower they gave a Brighten bracelet. I need some ideas. As for food, we are having cake, mints (does anyone even eat these?) and nuts. But my daughter wants finger foods. Her mother-in-law said that a meal is not necessary since its only a shower and it is at 2 p.m. My daughter at least wants a fruit platter. Any advice will be helpful.
Answer:
Okay yes on the fruit dish....even have a few easy salads (people can bring these) a cheese & cracker platter and a veggie platter...will do just fine! Baked goods work too!
Games:
1 trivia game - (ABOUT THE NEW PARENTS) this was the COOLEST thing I did at my shower. With the dads mom you create a list of 10 questions for EACH guest to answer such as:
1. Who was born weighing 6.4lbs (then have a circle options)
2. Who flunked their drivers test?
3. Who once failed ___ class?
4. Who was potty trained first?
Make the questions FUN and crazy so everyone is laughing, ours STUMPED everyone. All guests enjoyed hearing the results - and we saved the sheets as a keepsake for our daughter.
Another game is the baby food taste test...
Beer out of a bottle for men (if appropriate)
OH the baby changing draw - have a race - people ahve to change a doll the quickest -
etc.
Gifts - a little photo of the baby on a string attached to the mints would be nice! (just whole punch it). Nothing fancy!
For prizes....call your local AVON rep - get lotions etc.. go to a dollor store - THERES ALOT you can find! Stupid things people love! lOL - BUT -have ONE prize table. When people win things - they go pick ONE prize. That way everyone is happy.
As for the diaper/wipe table..... just give everyone a chance to hit the prize table...(this is where the dollar store will really help....get frames, soaps, lotions, air freshners...ANYTHING!!)
I would also suggest a $1 raffle ($1 per ticket for a large gift certificate say $25 or $50). Selling tickets gets alot of dough!
Def get some item everyone can sign as a memory - a frame .... a sign-able stuffed animal or dog (they have these at the party stores)...
Hope Ive helped some!
