The cave; search for wisdom
In the years the kingdom of Atlantis reigned, there lived a young man called Ankhet. "I always wish that I would be the wisest man in the world", are the words he always chorused to his parents. "If you master the secret of selling more merchandise than I, then you will become the wisest man in the world!" was the reply the father always gave to his son.
In the skill of trading across the seas and oceans, no one was worthy of becoming a match to Ankhet's father. He had unique qualities which attracted myriads of buyers and apprentices to his business empire. Charm, honesty, hard work and a positive social image always made him envy to every merchant in Atlantis.
"If you master the secret of making more beautiful pots and vases than I, then you will become the wisest man in the world!" were the words Ankhet's mother always whispered to his ears. Royals from as far lands as Africa, Asia and Americas frequented to her ceramic business empire to buy her fine work.
Virtue, inimitable charm and beauty creating an aura of admiration around her, many people were convinced that she was a goddess. Some sculptors even went to an extent of carving her ravishing beauty out of marble and adding them to the temples dedicated to their gods and goddesses!
A rift gradually forming in his conscience on who to believe between his two parents came to an eerie reality for the young man. Questions about what wisdom is, began to make him preoccupied and perceive life in a more philosophical way. He also started writing his thoughts on a scroll, which he guarded jealously like the Holy Grail.
Ankhet's resolve to search for the meaning of wisdom deep in the forest came as a wakeup call when three grape seasons passed. Telling no one of his mission, the youth sneaked out from his bedroom through the window, picked up three red apples from the garden, and headed to the forest. "I won't return home until I know what wisdom really," he whispered in his mind with a loud determination.
When three nights passed, a middle-aged man carrying some herbs in a rabbit-skin came across a malnourished, young man who wore torn clothes. "What are you doing here in this dangerous forest?" the passer-by asked the
Stranger. With a weak stare, the malnourished visitor replied, "I want to know how I can attain wisdom".
His eyes drowned in compassion, the passer-by helped the stress-ridden boy to his feet and took him to a big cave. The journey took only ten minutes to reach the massive cave which acted like a world of its own with streams of clean water, bats and fireflies.
"Tiny drops of water sink into the ground, eroding limestone through time. Season after season, the hole becomes bigger and bigger, becoming a cave. When animals seek a place for shelter and protection, they come to the same cave. Wisdom is much like water on the ground; it gradually gets into you, eroding all the weaknesses and impossibilities in you if you only allow it. In the end, you become a whole person who can counsel people and create great ideas. People see you as a shelter and fortress in times of trouble and distress…." the middle-aged man philosophized to the boy as they admired the cave in front of them.
Since that spiritual moment, Ankhet discovered that wisdom is listening to people's and the sacred's constructive words, allowing them to shape his perception and reality for the better. That's the same wisdom that made his father a successful merchant, and his mother a successful artist.
About the Author
Many times we ask what is wisdom, how we can achieve it and where we can achieve it. Philosophers like Buddha, Socrates, Plato and Kemet's Phahhotep really inspired me to write this piece that I have shared with you. By asking myself what is wisdom, I found myself creating www.enlightenmentsail.blogspot. Let's share wisdom together!

Frequently Asked Questions...
How Can I make atlantis in water?
In art me and My friend Lizzie have to make a sculpture of anything of our choice. Well we then decided to take an ordinary vase and make a twilight zone where you can see atlantis in the water, but we have no idea on how to make atlantis because whatever we try the water ruins it. Any Ideas?
Answer:
I can think of two things. One could be you get some of those aquarium castles and sea weed to put in there, and maybe some of the colored rocks too. The other would be to draw "Atlantis" on construction paper, then color it in and paste it on the outside of the vase. You might even use a little glitter. Then when someone looks through the glass on the other side it would appear the image was in the water.
